It's May.

Crazy things are happening at school. In my (expert) opinion, it's because we have arrived to the month of May. Weather gets a little warmer (although I believe it was hotter in September and October...), kids are thinking about summer, TEACHERS are thinking about summer. It's just a crazy time of year!

Here's what happened today: I am sitting peacefully in our staff lounge enjoying my lunch, when in walks a teacher holding a balloon filled with water. Not a "water balloon" type balloon, but a real, normal-sized balloon you'd see at a kid's birthday party. Confiscated water balloon at lunch. Who was that kid going to throw it at? A teacher or a student? Gah.

About a minute passes by as I continue my peaceful lunch, when in walks a different teacher, holding a brick. A what? A brick. A what? A ....you get the picture. A brick, ladies and gentelman, was ALSO confiscated today. Apparently the kid had it during class, the teacher took it away (for obvious reasons....), the kid took it back and the teacher once again confiscated it. So during my 25 minute lunch today - I saw a confiscated balloon filled with water (I assume) and a brick. Seriously? Welcome to high school in May.

On another note - tomorrow is our last meeting for Jackson. It is a good thing, and a sad thing. Good because I don't have to be at school at 7am every Wednesday, and because we'll get to read through the kids' portfolios which should be awesome. Sad because the journey is coming to an end with these kids. Anyway....it is time for water aerobics - I will post some pictures of Jackson soon!!!!
