Monday
6am: drive with Nicole to the Rose Bowl in Pasadena, CA.
7:15am: arrive in Pasadena with packed lunch, sunblock, book, and papers signed.
7:20am: walk through parking lot of the Rose Bowl taking random pictures next to VIP parking spaces (for facebook - Nicole took them)
7:25am: arrive at table where a man slaps a purple American Idol wristband on me, hands me a ticket and some papers, tells me to show up tomorrow at 5am.
7:30am: get back to the car with packed lunch, sunblock, book, signed paper, and other American Idol stuff
8:15am: arrive home to go back to bed.
12pm - 3pm: search Itunes, YouTube, and call Heidi for advice on which song to sing at my American Idol audition Tuesday. Song of choice: All I Need by Bethany Dillon.
11pm: attempt to sleep, but it's too hot and my nerves won't allow it.
Tuesday
3:37am: wake up to get ready for a day in the American Idol world.
4:30am: Drive with Nicole to the Rose Bowl
5:15am: arrive in Pasadena
5:20am - 8am: sit in a VERY long line outside the Rose Bowl
8am: finally get inside the Rose Bowl, find seats in section 4, row 16, seat 10.
9am: Pretend to be excited and wave my arms around in an effort to get on camera
9:15am: lipsink So What by Pink (today was the first time I have heard it...)
9:20am - 5pm: sit around, apply sunblock, people watch, read, apply sunblock, listen to All I Need, eat packed lunch, apply sunblock, comment on interesting culture of people auditioning for AI, attempt to find shade, strike up (Spanish) conversation with cool people from Venezuela, :) apply sunblock, listen to All I Need.
5:10pm: my row gets called to get in line, I listen to All I Need one more time
5:30pm: stand in front of 2 judges (not Simon and Paula...they weren't there) with 3 others
5:31pm: silently freak out, try and remember words to All I Need
5:32: called to front and sing
5:32.5: start All I Need too low, sing a little off-key, try to remember the words, get asked to stop singing.
5:34: called to front with 3 others, and hear, "You're just not the right fit for American Idol this season,"make my way up the stairs and out of the building.
6:45pm: arrive home exhausted, sweaty, hungry, and...pretty satisfied.
All in all - a good couple of days. I got to see some very interesting wardrobe choices (neon spandex, neon leotard, hula hoop combo...and she made it to round 2!!!), listen to some amazing singers, and finally receive the news that I am just not the right fit for this season's American Idol. But hey - it's a good conversation starter/first day of school story anyway.
So...what did you do on June 30, 2009?

Haha! Hilarious!
(I wrote this before, but for some reason my name was "Test Blog" so I had to change that)
The image of hula-hooping spandex/leotard girl is quite funny - wish I could have seen that one :)
