27 and lovin' life.

I have been lacking much in the blogging department lately, which is weird, because I have had a ton of fun and not-so-fun times these past few weeks! After I found out about my job situation for next year, that is, that I don't have a job, I started searching right away. I'm still in the process, and don't have any definite plans for next year. Part of me really wants to stay exactly where I am - living in California with an amazing roommate and a supportive community surrounding me. Then part of me is sort of feeling like maybe this is the push I need to GO. Go where? Not sure yet. So...we'll just see.

After a number of conversations (at Starbucks), Aaron and I decided to part ways. It was a good 18 months, but in the end it seemed like God was pulling us apart more than bringing us together. Of course there is sadness and wishing and all that, but I don't regret any of it, and by God's grace I feel peace about it all.

A few weekends ago my friend Katie came for a visit. She had never done the "LA thing" so I tried to give her a small glimpse of it. We walked around Santa Monica, people-watched as we sipped lattes, and as we were about to head to Hollywood, the GPS told us it would take us 50 minutes to drive the 15 miles it is from SM to Hollywood..so we headed home instead. We didn't see any celebs like we had hoped..but it was fun anyway. All weekend, Katie and I caught up on life - she is a mom to a 15 month old little boy and is married to an amazing guy who works for the US military on rescue missions. So if you ever get stranded in an avalanche or the middle of the ocean - Katie's hubby might be the one jumping out a plane to save you. :)

Last Saturday I went to Laguna Beach to have a tea luncheon with some cousins. So here are some pictures to document that day. (Amber and baby Grace, me and Stacy)

Yesterday at school, I had some students bring me b-day goodies, and I told them I needed pictures of them to document the special day. The two girls in the picture with me are Nichole and Chelsea - they are really amazing girls who bring so much joy to my life, and to my Spanish classes. Oh, as an added bonus, I forgot to take my teaching microphone off before the picture. :)

Today is my actual b-day, and so far I have...had breakfast, talked to my parents, my sister and Sasha, and that's about it. My good friend Nicole is on her way to visit from Bakersfield, so I might need to clean up the apartment a bit after I post this...and tonight my friend Megan and I are having a joint b-day party (not joint as in marijunana...joint as in together). More pictures and stories to come!

God is good. All the time.
