A meeting with a recruiter.
A very long application with essays.
Waiting for an interview.
An intense interview - partly in Spanish.
Waiting for a call back.
Setting up a day to do a demonstration lesson.
Buying a new outfit for the demo lesson.
Practicing the demo.
Driving lots of miles.
20 minute demo.
And a message on my phone today that says I did not get the job.
Apparently they also interviewed a native Spanish speaker....can't really compete with that one, can I? After I heard the message, I called Kevin. We talked, then got off the phone.
30 seconds later he calls back. He says, "Allison, can I pray with you?" We pray on the phone - I cry a little. I am incredibly blessed and humbled by this man of God.
I got into the library where I know of a secret chocolate stash our faithful librarian hides from the kiddos. I take some chocolate - and tell the news to the librarian. She says, "So celebrate, Allison! You know that is not where God wants you, so celebrate that fact!"
Talk about a perspective change, right? Celebrate - God is faithful. He has closed a door. But He will open another.
South Beach Diet? Um....not today.
