Well...this is how it goes.

Remember how I was posting about all these new and exciting things going on? Well...this is how it has gone for me. I still have a new nephew - he is the most precious little baby..and his parents are doing well too. Woo hoo for healthy families! I do not have a new job yet. Turns out God knows me better than I think I know myself...and the jobs I have applied and interviewed for so far are not the right fit for me...so I keep waiting, applying, interviewing, thinking, talking, praying, seeking.

It will be a new school year for a LOT of my friends around here starting next Tuesday. Admittedly, I am both relieved and saddened by this fact. Bittersweet, I guess they call it (Bittersweet is also the title of a GREAT book by Shauna Niequist too!) So while all my buddies were sitting at meetings last week, I was...um...interviewing, applying, thinking, waiting, skyping. Next week should be interesting. After 5 years of the same-ish thing, everything will be different. Not working full time is HARD. No one really tells you that, after working full time for a mere 5 years, and then not knowing when I'll work full time again, it's a strange feeling. But I have to keep reminding myself of something one of my favorite pastors said once in a sermon, "You are more than you produce," which I take to mean, my BEING is just as important as my DOING. I take comfort in that, I guess.

On to some other stuff....I have been loving the music of Rascal Flatts, Katy Perry (not ALL her music...but one particular song that I can also groove to), and the soundtrack for Country Strong - a good yet depressing movie. Anyway...I thought I'd post a pic of Katy Perry here. I am not promoting all her music, nor her lifestyle, nor anything really about her except for this song. I like it - gets me groovin', and I like the line that says, "After a hurricane comes a rainbow."

I am also waiting with eager expectation for the famous fall treat of...drum roll please...the Pumpkin Spice Latte at Starbucks! Woot! Woot! These are really unhealthy for you...and I know that...so I will be sure to consider this a TREAT, and not a regular beverage choice...but how exciting anyway, right? :) Autumn is upon us, people. Cross Country races, leaves falling, pumpkin decorations, hooded sweatshirts, cool evening walks, cool morning walks, all good things!

I like to include encouraging thoughts in my posts, just to remind myself that God is good in ALL circumstances. This song reminds me of that today.
