Yesterday was a BUSY day. Woke up to my doorbell ringing at 7:45am. I wasn't going to answer it, but after the second ring, I figured it must be flowers for me or something of the like. ;) Just kidding. It was my roommate's boyfriend who had forgotten his cell phone here the night before. After that there was no use trying to fall back asleep, so I went for an Easter morning walk, then got ready for church. We had an awesome service - I even requested a CD recording of the sermon it was so good. My pastor rocks. Then it was on to the craziness!
Aaron and I drove to Laguna Beach to visit the Cali relatives who had rented out a sweet room for the whole fam. More people were there than I had expected, and BIG props go to the Fabarez fam for making it all happen! Lindsey had the place decorated with spring-y flowers and balloons, and even had a fun game planned for the whole crew. It was super fun to see Amber, Adam, and their little fam, because Alli (11 months) is getting so big, and they are expecting another in October! Also super fun to see Matt and Stacy - with their adorable little Noah who is running all over the place in giggles, and they are also expecting another boy in May! But the most exciting thing that happened was a 6.9 EARTHQUAKE that shook the whole room! I was busy having a very deep discussion with cousins Ab, Carol, Kaylie, and Malorie when it hit. Seriously, the room shook for like 15 seconds, no joke. It was quite scary, especially when Ab looked at me and yelled, "Get out!" so we ran outside of the clubhouse so we didn't get smashed by a falling building. But once we got outside it was all over. My rellies and I joked that maybe Jesus was making his debut second coming! :)
After the Cali relatives fun, Aaron and I jetted back to his parents' house for some more family fun. Their house is always filled with a million different foods (rice, beans, tortillas...), and delicious desserts made by his sister. I played a round or so of Jenga with Aaron's nephews, and chatted with Quintin, (Aaron's youngest brother) about my great idea for the youth group. In my church back in the day, we used to do a Youth Sunday - where the youth group directed the entire church service with a somewhat cheezy skit and somewhat cheezy music. I told Q that his(/our) youth group should do that too. He looked at me kind of funny, then changed the subject. :)
If this blog post is kind of boring, or you are just looking for some entertainment, take a look at Aaron enjoying the Easter card I got from my mom. It was an egg that came with different parts of the face. I drew in the hair, and stuck all the extra stickers on Aaron's face. He's cute. Or for more fun, check out this video of my adorable niece Alexis. She is a CUTIE PIE. :)
