I am still waiting to hear back about a job. The waiting is the hardest part, right? Sheesh. Every person I see wants an update on what is going on with my job search...and each time, I think, "I will know really soon!" and then the waiting continues.
Have you seen The Help yet?? You should! Don't forget to go see it! Last night Megan Z and I were driving to visit our college friend Zoe in Los Angeles, and she said to me, "If you could see any celebrity while we're in LA, who would you want to see?" My response: "Emma Stone," Megan's response? "John Krazinski," I was kind of jealous she said that...
Hm. To pass the time as I wait..I have done lots of fun things. :) I had coffee with an old friend, watched Expedition Impossible with some good friends, worked out at the gym almost every day this week, walked to the grocery store, read copies of Runner's World magazines and became inspired, and have been working my way through a new book called "Soul Cravings," by Erwin McManus - the pastor of a church called Mosaic, in LA. It was something I read in his book last night that made me write this post. (Sorry for the other random stories....!) So - if I got a job, and I got to have my own office (or classroom, or workspace, or whatever), I would want to post THIS quote somewhere I can read it every day:
"To go beyond feeling, to go beyond compassion, you have to believe that it is right to act, that you were created to bring change. If Jesus was nothing else, he was an activist for change. To be a follower of Christ is to believe that everyone's life can be different. No one is defined by the status of birth. Our destiny is not limited to our pedigree. Every human being is of equal value to God. No one must remain a prisoner of fate." (emphasis mine)
WHOA. Chew on that one for awhile.
Gotta run - don't want to be late for church!! :)
