Changin' it up.

Currently I am sitting in my living room. It's summer, but I have work to do. Boo. Grad school is not my favorite thing in the world. I am reading a book called Voices From the Past: Reformed Educators. If that is not a recipe for fun, I'm not sure what is! So....instead I logged onto my blog and changed the background. Do you like it?

This is what I have *ahem* get to do: read 4 articles in this intriguing book, then compare them to each other and to my classroom practice. Um....slight problem. I have read four articles, and I have no clue what they are talking about. Seriously. No joke. One that I thought might be interesting, I read it three times, and I just do not know how to write a paper and actually relate this stuff to my own teaching experience. Y.I.K.E.S.

The other assignment I get to do is read this entire book called The Philosophy of Education: A Christian Perspective. Again, just the kind of book I'd love to delve into during my summer vacay...you too? :)

In all reality...I have only 2 papers left to write. 2 five-page papers based on these ridiculous books; books that I do not understand in the least. So.......if you have any advice or want to read them along with me and then help me figure out what they are trying to say so I can somehow bust out a five-page paper in the next week or so...that'd be excellent. :)

In other news....I have been slowly but surely bringing stuff over to my new place with my roommate. We love our place. And we have such an awesome community around us that we are scoring big time and hopefully not really having to buy much new stuff at all! Woo hoo! We are getting a really nice couch for cheap, a tv and coffee table for free, and possibly fridge and washer/dryer for free/cheap too. LOVE IT.

Well, I think I might hop on over to SB and get me a pick-me-up so I can continue this awesome day of reading and thinking and paper-writing.......venti coffee, anyone? :)
