I can't believe it is the middle of November and I am just now updating my blog. That's pretty pathetic. I will blame it on the fact that I (still) do not have the Internet at home. Is that a good enough excuse? :)
So here we are - in the middle of November. Since my last post...a lot has happened! I have some pictures on my camera, but of course I don't have my camera with me at the moment....but I happen to have this classic picture on my computer, so I will share it. Explanation: a few weeks ago at my school it was spirit week - and for Nerd Day, I looked through my closet, threw together this little number, and got a picture with the students in my (very small) study hall class. Enjoy. More pictures later.
Update on life in Cali....my parents came to visit!! It was a super fun weekend. We first hung out in Laguna Beach with the California family - where we had a very early Thanksgiving dinner with almost the whole gang (plus my mom and dad and Aaron and I). I took that Friday off from school, so my parents and I hung out....just talked a lot, and I showed them around my neck of the woods (with my dad saying every now and then, "Slow down...I think this is the neighborhood we used to live in. Yep - there's our old house!") In case you didn't know, my dad spent a few years of high school in the same city I live in now! CRAZY. :)
My parents had the privilege of meeting Aaron's family too. First we had dinner with just the parents...it was fun to see them chatting away about grandkids, work, etc. On Saturday Aaron, my parents, and I went to Oak Glen - which is this beautiful apple orchard about 45 min from where I live. We packed a lunch, and enjoyed the scenery at Oak Glen for the afternoon. Later in the weekend, my parents got to experience Aaron's whole family - we had Sunday lunch at their house. Lots of laughs, convos, and good times. I am so blessed to have such awesome and loving parents who are willing to take the time to leave freezing cold MN and come visit me in southern Cali for the weekend. :)
What else....? Well, last week we had parent-teacher conferences, then a nice long weekend in which I went shopping, slept a lot, worked out, hung with Aaron, and graded papers. Now it's a few days before our Thanksgiving break, and kids (and teachers!) are so ready to be done for a bit. Next week there is no school - we teachers have two days of staff development, and then the rest of the week off. Can't complain about that! :)
I am sure I left a few details from this past month out....but this will have to do for now. I'll try and update again soon. Today I will leave you with this:
