I love long weekends. They honestly might be the best things in the whole world. At least for me, a weary teacher...maybe parents of those kiddos are not quite as excited. This weekend I celebrated my b-day with some really great friends...I'll try to post some pictures later. My good friend Nicole came to visit from Bakersfield, which is always special because we grew up together in MN, and both teach Spanish to high school kids...so we've got lots to chat about.
As you probably guessed...I received an abundance of Starbucks gift cards for my bday. :) In addition, I got LOTS of homemade cards with really sweet messages inside - at our party we had a card-making table...sort of to force our friends to write nice things about us (us, being Megan and I...we celebrated together), and sort of so they didn't have the pressure of picking out a clever but sincere card at Target. Best of both worlds, then. So...I got lots of cute cards - I'll maybe put them all together and capture them in a photo for the blog later...
This morning I went for a walk/run and while I walked/ran, I was in awe of the weather here. It is February - and I don't have to wear a massive coat down to my knees or heat my car up before I can drive anywhere (that is, if the roads are clear). Instead...I get to walk/run in shorts and a t-shirt, and enjoy the sunshine and view of the mountains in the distance. Whew. I don't know....it doesn't make me want to leave!!! Yikes. What, oh WHAT in the world am I going to do next year???? Seriously...it scares me to think about leaving this beautiful place - California. Say what you want about the rude drivers or the immense amount of traffic...California is an awesome place to live. I don't take any of it for granted, seriously.
I will say it again - if you have any suggestions or advice for me as far as job searching, or what you think I would be PERFECT for in the near future...don't hesitate to let me know! :)
Well, I suppose I should get crackin' on some of the applications I have printed out. 3 hours until I have a dinner date with 2 great pals. Woot! Woot!

I just love you. And I'm praying that you'll be able to clearly see God's will for your life in the next year.
I would like to tell you that I am a prophet, and that God himself has told me that you need to move to Iowa and live next door to me. We could hang out everyday and life would be blissful.
Except that, CLEARLY, none of that idea came from God at all. And it doesn't involve any kind of plan for making money or doing anything but hang out with me. Which is not a very substantial or purposeful plan. But, it does sound blissful.
:)
